Writing in Solitude
How to express,
The tears in my eyes,
Without explaining all that’s tangled up in my mind.
I am so lonesome,
I am so sad,
Sometimes I don’t know the reason why,
Sometimes I think the reson is you and the lack of closure.
Do I know who I write this to?
No, confusion washes over me, and all of you merge into one.
I want to write of my sadness and yet I end up writing of the love and caring that I possess for the special people in my life.
I’ve cared so much,
That to some it boredered on overstepping boundaries.
I’ve cared so much that the one who I love can do no wrong to me though they may be doing it all along.
And I’m left alone,
To think, to cry, but worst of all, to pray for you and miss you while I do it.
It’s not difficult to pray,
For God is always listening,
He needs no phone,
No email,
No postmaster,
Just prayer.
Through my prayer and our conversation, God has given me a gift. In truth many gifts.
How can I describe something so pure?
Let’s just put it like this.
Through his grace, he has given me a precious box inlaid with gold and encrusted with precious colorful stones.
Number one is honesty to share with those I love and be truthful.
The second is a very strong affection for the special person in my life.
The third is comprised of the sonderful memories they have left me.
So many stones to share with them,
Yet, greater is the number of my gifts that I may treasure in this box called Friendship.
An earthly parent gives their child a box to put their little toys and most prized possessions.
They can take them out and examine them at leisure.
My Heavenly Father has given me the same keepsake.
And when I am overwhelmed
I take these memories out and examine them.
He has given me strength,
He has given me caring and understanding.
He has given me a friend here on Earth,
Who helps me through my hard time.
Yes it is you,
You know who you are.
I know times have been very hard,
I know your heart was crushed in people’s uncaring hands.
Yet I will thank God for giving your friendship to me.
Strange things happen all the time,
But God is the one to help us find the miracles in them.
You are a miracle in my life,
Your friendship is the treasure found in the rubble of destruction.
The rubble where I found you sets fire to the Bible half the time,
Yet God knew you were special and I learned you were kind.
And when our friendship made me take the time to strip the layers away,
I found someone I cared about and still do to this day.
I thank you for your sense of humor,
I thank you for the smiles you have brought to my life.
And I thank you for always understanding.
Your friendship is a treasure and I’ll always treat it as such,
And I’ll always be there,
To show you as much.
My comfort and support you’ll always have,
And I’ll offer what I can,
And when someone is out to get you good,
For you I’ll always take a stand.
